For dentists performing Class II restorations, the Palodent V3 is a sectional matrix system designed to provide simple, predictable, and precise contact formation by incorporating advanced ring, matrix, and wedge technologies. The Palodent V3 ensures accurate contacts, a tight marginal seal, reduced overhang, minimal finishing, and easy placement and removal. This system is made up of six meticulously designed components: rings, matrices, wedges, wedgeguards, forceps, and pin tweezers, all optimized for superior performance both individually and as a cohesive system. As a result, Palodent is one of the most straightforward and precise matrix systems available.
The Palodent® V3 Sectional Matrix System features a nickel-titanium retaining ring, interproximal wedge, WedgeGuard, and sectional matrices, specifically for restorations in the posterior region. These sectional matrices are compatible with all posterior restorative materials. The retaining rings come in two sizes: narrow for most premolars and small molars, and universal for larger molars. Rings can be used singly or together to restore multiple surfaces simultaneously. The benefits of these sectional matrices and rings include the ability to create natural contours for better control of contact areas and embrasures, ease of placement, improved visibility of the operative field, and increased comfort for both the practitioner and the patient. By eliminating the leverage of a traditional matrix retainer, the practitioner can use less tension, reducing excessive compression of the tooth and facilitating the formation of anatomically accurate proximal contact areas. The innovative WedgeGuard, which combines a wedge and shield, protects adjacent surfaces from accidental damage during preparation. The pin tweezers allow the shield to be easily removed, leaving the wedge securely in place.
